Digital Marketing
Digital marketing and
internet marketing. Many times people gets confused about the scope and exact
meaning of this. Actually speaking internet marketing is a subdivision of
digital marketing. It is not a different concept at all.
Digital marketing means
and includes variety of modes of communication whether online or offline to woo
their prospective customers. For example, TV or Radio ads, Mobile marketing,
SMS , Email marketing, Social media marketing, Pay per click, Content marketing
etc. forms the concept of digital marketing.
In other words digital
marketing utilizes all the available channels of communication to
promote a brand whereas internet marketing relies only on online
channels.
Now let’s get familiar
with some basic concepts of Internet Marketing. We can use internet for
advertising, to sell out goods or services etc. As discussed above Internet
marketing means and includes only online channels like Email
marketing , Search engine marketing , Social media marketing also text or banner
advertising.
Search Engine Management
includes SEO (search engine optimization) and PPC (pay per click).
What does it means?
Take a simple example. If anyone wants his /her name should appear in a
leading Newspaper (perhaps every one wishes that!!!) basically there are two
ways. Place advertise in that paper (simplest way!!!) or do some great things
on merit (of course!!!) that your name will appear into pages of that
newspaper.
In the above example,
placing advertisement can be called as PPC (pay
per click) and second as SEO (search engine optimization)
for the purpose of internet marketing.
Keywords are anything that a person enters on search engine to find
something. (E.g. dental clinics near to home). Choosing right keywords are
important for our site getting placed among top results.
Niche audience are the potential consumers to whom any company target for
generating sales. Let’s take another example. Any company deals in pharmacy products,
niche audience can be the persons involved in medical field like doctors,
patients etc. We can also called them as Target audience. Also pointing out
local targeting is important.
We can call Google tool called as keyword tool which takes into account
keywords as well as location of target audience.
Traffic means the number of persons that visits website or blog from
Search engines e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. Suppose 5000 persons visited site
of a particular company in a specific period (generally month) can be called as
a traffic.
Conversion means the potential consumers that turns into actual consumer
or Customer by purchasing a product or service from the company. Maximum
conversion rate is always beneficial for a company.
Competition means the number of sites given out by search engine
for a particular search term entered by user. For example, if anyone type
"smart phone" and about 130,000,000 results are displayed. So these
numbers are our competition.
